I ran the Marathon!

6 May 2019

In January 2018, as a New Years resolution, I’ve decided I’ll run a Marathon!

Loved to watch London Marathon every year on tellie, the atmosphere, the emotions, the straggle, the fun were quite intriguing and fascinating.

The only thing was I’d never run before!

In April, I joined the best running club in Milton Keynes- #RedwayRunners!
Then running was fun, but the Marathon desires evaporate… 5k were more than enough!

One year later, my lovely friend Jo gave me a book to read.. 401 Marathons for 401 days by Ben Smith, well the headline says it all – it is a real story of Ben, who actually run 401 Marathons for 401 days and of course my thought was If he can do this, I CAN too!

Guess what, the local marathon was due in 20 days and yes, I signed up online straight away. Although, I thought I was going to die…
Excitement was beyond words!
Happy days!

My fellow running buddies thought I’m nuts.. to run a 42km without any special training, but hey I already knew that 😀

My first and probably last Marathon was mix of fun, challenging and emotional moments.. I’ve been over taken by a rhino and yeti.. it was brutal at some point, but I DID IT!

I loved the atmosphere, the people outside of their houses cheering up, supporting and clapping at everyone… priceless!

To hear my name at the finish.. ‘Radostina Kostadinova, Well done!’… great pleasure!

“Keep reading. It’s one of the most marvelous adventures that anyone can have.”
